Associate Quantity Surveyor - Asset & Tax Advisory

Help lead Koste's Melbourne growth across commercial tax depreciation, asset advisory, asset registers and specialist property reporting.

Why this role exists

Koste is expanding its Melbourne capability and is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with an established background in both commercial assets and tax depreciation. This is a senior technical and client-facing position, not a generic commercial Quantity Surveyor role.

Commercial tax depreciation Division 40 plant and equipment Division 43 capital works Asset registers and asset classification Commercial property inspections Insurance replacement cost Lifecycle planning and CAPEX forecasting Commercial fitouts Tenant and landlord asset assessments CGT cost base evidence Historical construction cost analysis Commercial property portfolios

Responsibilities

Manage commercial asset and tax assignments Undertake inspections across Melbourne and Victoria Prepare and review tax depreciation schedules Review Division 40 and Division 43 treatment Prepare asset registers Review construction costs, fitouts and CAPEX Work directly with accountants, property owners and advisers Review junior QS work and resolve technical enquiries Support proposals and professional relationships Help grow Koste's Melbourne technical capability

Experience

Significant Quantity Surveying experience Demonstrated tax depreciation or capital allowances experience Demonstrated commercial asset experience Experience identifying and classifying plant and building assets Commercial property knowledge Strong report writing and client-facing experience Ability to manage projects independently Asset registers, insurance replacement cost, lifecycle planning, CAPEX, commercial fitouts, CGT work and technical review experience are highly desirable.

Qualifications

Quantity Surveying qualification. AIQS or RICS membership is highly desirable.
